Hair Buyers Collective (HBC)
The Hair Buyers Collective is a movement to reshape how Black business owners engage with the current Black beauty industry, especially when it comes to purchasing extension hair from non-Black-owned businesses. Our mission began with high-quality synthetic hair, tackling problems that have been overlooked for far too long. By becoming a part of this collective, you’re not just supporting better products—you’re joining a community dedicated to challenging the status quo, reclaiming ownership in the industry, and driving real change for Black consumers and entrepreneurs alike.
Through collaboration we will design all aspects of the hair; colors, textures, lengths, fiber, etc. For years we have faced challenges with the off-the-shelf brands that aren’t tailored to our needs, such as ill-fitting wigs or synthetic hair that tangles easily. The Collective seeks to change that by giving you a voice and a seat at the table about the hair you purchase.
We invite both professionals and DIY consumers to join. Whether for personal use, business building, or professional enhancement. By joining, members help meet minimum production requirements to manufacture these tailored products.
This initiative champions Black ownership and control within the beauty industry, creating opportunities to reclaim economic power. By circulating dollars within Black communities, we’re fostering sustainable growth, empowering entrepreneurs, and building a stronger foundation for future generations.
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
- Become a Member:
Fill out the form at the bottom of the page to join our Membership wait list. Membership is completely free, but we are carefully selecting individuals who share our passion for the movement and its mission. Once you are granted membership, you will have access to private website pages and will be invited to join our private FACEBOOK GROUP.
- Collaboration: Together, we will produce hair that embody our need for both quality and function. The possibilities are limitless, and we invite you to join us in this collaborative journey. Follow us on Instagram and YOUTUBE Like our Facebook Page, so we can always connect with you.
- Minimum Order Requirements:
Each hair type and color will have a minimum unit requirement, which will be clearly displayed for all members. You’ll be able to see in real-time how close we are to reaching the minimum for production to begin.
- Order Placement:
Once the minimum is met, the order will be placed, and production will begin. Please note that manufacturing can take 10, 20 or 30 days. This process is best suited for those looking to stock, sale and planning ahead—not for those needing hair for an upcoming install.
- Order Frequency:
Order placement will be dependent on the needs and demands of the members.
The collective is set and ready to assist you with the creation of synthetic braiding hair that is safe, non toxic, and hypo allergenic.
